About The Matrescence Collective.
Mel and Teghan first met in 2015 as two twenty-somethings, beginning their nursing careers. 9 years and 5 children later, Mel and Teghan have discovered what sets their souls on fire. And so, The Matrescence Collective was born.
The Matrescence Collective is a community where families and service providers can connect, so families are supported and cared for holistically.
Throughout their own motherhood experiences, Mel and Teghan understand the importance of community during this transition, and the importance of investing in worthwhile services that have a positive and lasting impact on the future wellbeing of families.

MEL & TEGHAN - CO-FOUNDERS OF THE MATRESCENCE COLLECTIVE.
Meet our co-founders
Meet Teghan - wife, mother of three, emerging birth doula and has been a Registered nurse for 10 years.
Teghan is a wife, mother of three, emerging birth doula and has been a Registered nurse for 10 years. After becoming a mother, Teghan noticed a gap in community support. Over her years of growth and learning she has forged a passion for connecting families with the support they need.
Meet Mel - Mel is a wife, mother of two, Enrolled nurse, lactation student and postpartum doula.
After having her own children, Mel developed a passion for breastfeeding and supporting mothers to feel empowered in the choices they make for their family. Mel wants to highlight the invaluable services that Bendigo has to offer, so families can thrive in their pregnancy, birth and postpartum journey.
“We’ve experienced the isolation, the feeling of needing to ‘do it all’. We want to help people realise that investing your money in services is pivotal for the health and wellbeing of new mothers and their babies.” - Mel
